The Runes app is designed for iPhone and iPod touch, inspired by the renowned book "The Runes: A Human Journey" by Kari Tauring. Tauring, a seasoned author, educator, and musician with over two decades of experience in the study of Nordic Runes, brings profound insight and knowledge to rune interpretation suitable for both beginners and advanced enthusiasts.
The app provides guidance for single (Wyrd), two-rune (Kona/Mannen), or three-rune (Norns) readings. It also enables users to create custom rune arrangements through a "freecast" feature, save Rune Charms to the photo gallery (which can be used as wallpaper) or email them. Users can save readings and easily share them with friends directly from the app. Additionally, the app offers customizable settings such as the option to include rune reversals in the readings and provides a selection of Kari Tauring's original music to enrich the rune-pulling experience.
The practicality of The Runes makes it a daily companion for anyone interested in runic divination, akin to carrying a pocket-sized bag of runes and an informative guidebook at all times.
Furthermore, the app includes the complete text of Tauring's book (a $15.95 value). Users can access full chapters related to each rune summary by selecting the "Full Text" link within the app.
